Rebecca Folkes

Waynesville-Rebecca Carver Folkes, age 84, of 86 Playground Street, died on Monday, August 08, 2005 at Autumn Care of Waynesville. A native of West Palm Beach, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Mamie Lester Carver. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bert L. Folkes who died in 1993. She was a bookkeeper for Walker Chemical Company for 17 years before retiring in 1986. She had a love for her family and her church, Palm Springs Drive Baptist Church, of which she was a member. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by a daughter, Juanita Ferguson, and her husband, James, of Waynesville; a son, Louis Folkes, of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Ramona Robinson and Emily Sapp, both of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Tina McDowell of Sanford, FL, and Melanie Gibson and Crystal DeLozier, both of Canton; eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2005 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville with Reverend Larry Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Mims, Florida. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 3:45 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service.
