Reeves Greene

Clyde, Reeves James Greene, age 85, of 109 Cloverhill Road, died on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late James Baxter and Sophia McElroy Greene. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Marvin, Elmer, Vance, and Milas; and two sisters, Leona Fisher and Annie Mae Clark. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and was a machine operator for the NC Highway Department having retired in 1985. He is survived by a special friend, Mary Hughes of Clyde; one brother, Frank Greene and his wife, Martha, of Clyde; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Heath Davis and Reverend Jimmy Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
