Regenia Phillips

Canton�Regenia Chambers Phillips, age 64, died peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, January 11, 2011. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Ruby Brown Chambers. In addition to her father, Dewey Chambers, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bonnie and Burpee Norris. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and attended Morning Star United Methodist Church. Regenia enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She graduated from Canton High School in 1964 and attended Western Carolina University. Regenia retired from Haywood Regional Medical Center. In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons; Mark Phillips and his wife, Tammie and Matt Phillips and his wife, Lori, all of Canton; a sister, Margaret Mefford and her husband, Tommy, of Roanoke, VA; a niece, Christian "Christie" Teeter and her husband, Chris of Charlotte; and three grandchildren, Nicholas George Phillips, Mitchell Boone Phillips, and Hannah Page Phillips. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Doug Love and Reverend Greg Cope officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
