Regina Arnold

December 31, 1921 — March 31, 2017

Waynesville, Regina W. Arnold, 95, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 at The Laurels of Hendersonville, North Carolina, surrounded by people who loved her. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Deloyd and Tempa Johnson Welch. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clifton Arnold and a grandson Albert McCracken Haynes. Possessing a true servant's heart, Regina faithfully cared for family through delicious cooking, baking from-scratch cakes with decorations specific for the occasion, heirloom sewing and knitting. Through her life, Regina maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and heart of many. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter and joking, will never be forgotten. She touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity. She was a charitable, loving, considerate, kind, supportive and unselfish woman who always put other people before herself. Regina was an avid reader and the Bible was her favorite book. She was a long-time member of Allens Creek Baptist Church where she enjoyed her Sunday School Class and singing in the choir. She was also a member of Gideons International Auxiliary. Surviving are her children, Janice Haynes, Clifton Arnold (Tina), and Karen Kaufman (Steve); grandchildren, Lee Haynes, Robyn Restrepo, Kelly Webster, Chris Arnold, Tim Reeves, and Sam Kaufman; and seven great-grandchildren A celebration of Regina's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Allens Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service. A private family interment will be at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family thanks Dr. Lisa Verges for the loving care that she gave our mother and the guidance extended to her children on our dementia journey. To Dr. Lateef Abumoussa, we appreciate the excellent medical care of our mother. To the staff of The Laurels, we are grateful for the loving kindness and professionalism with which you treated our mother and our family while she was in your care.
