Reuben W. Adams

Reuben W. Adams, 89, of Canton, NC, entered the gates of Heaven on Jan 14, 2025.

He was reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife Zelda Earley Adams, parents, Richard Filmore Adams, and Bessie Hooper Adams and five siblings. 

Born in Jackson County, NC, Reuben would later settle in Haywood County, where he met his bride, Zelda, and together raised their loving family. Reuben had selflessly enlisted into the US Army, where he proudly served our grateful nation at the tail end of the Korean War. 

Reuben was known for his wonderful sense of humor. He was a true musician who loved playing the guitar with his Beulah Baptist Church family and always remained active within his church. Reuben enjoyed fishing, hunting, and taking in all the beauty Western North Carolina has to offer. Most of all Reuben loved his family, they were his pride and joy. 

Left to cherish Reuben’s memory are his children Karen Adams Moore and Timothy (Leanne) Adams, grandchildren Carrie (Mark) Jamison, Kaitlin Moore, Madison (Nathaniel) Gales and great-grandchildren Jack and Maggie Jamison. Reuben also leaves behind two brothers Denton and Samuel Adams. 

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation from 1pm to 1:45pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Beulah Baptist Church,483 Sunset Cir. Canton, NC; with a funeral service at 2pm with Pastor Barry Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery of Old Clyde Road.
