REVEREND DR. JACK M. NABORS
Lake Junaluska, NC-Reverend Dr. Jack M. Nabors, age 62, died Tuesday, May 06, 2003 at his residence.
A native of Tutwiler Mississippi, he was the son of the late Leonard L. and Kate Moore Nabors. He received his Bachelors Degree from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi; his Master of Divinity and his Doctorate of Ministry Degrees from Emory University. He was a retired Methodist minister having served churches in the North Mississippi Conference for 39 years. He served as a conference staff member, District Superintendent of the Grenada/Greenwood and New Albany Districts, and Director of Connectional Ministries for the Mississippi Conference of the United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jacquelyn ''Jackie'' Miller Nabors, of Lake Junaluska, NC; his daughter, Susan Eaton and her husband, Stewart, of Elsmere, Kentucky; a son, Mike Nabors, of Olive Branch, Mississippi; a sister, Martha Jean Smith, and her husband, Jimmy, of Ruleville, Mississippi; a brother, L. Leslie Nabors, Jr., of New Albany, Mississippi; a brother-in-law, Don Miller, and a sister-in-law, Ada Hammer, of Asheland, Virginia; one grandson, William ''Will'' Eaton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church of Waynesville with Reverend Henderson Rasberry and Bishop Kenneth L. Carder officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
