Reva Sova

Canton - On April 16, 2013, Reva Jane Miller Allen Sova passed gently in her sleep. Reva was preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers, her first husband, David Allen, her second husband, Francis Sova, her sons, Jeffrey Allen and Paul Sova, her grandson, Brandon Sova and son-in-law, Eddie Knight. Born on April 14, 1933 in Buncombe County, Reva resided most of her life in Canton, NC. It was there that she and David (Sonny) Allen met, started their life together and began a family. In 1974, after 22 years of marriage, Reva lost David. Finding herself a single mother of 4, Reva navigated a career path from coordinating Tupperware parties to becoming a national salesphenomenon for Rubbermaid. Her success was an expression of her ability to connect with people. She met Francis (Frank) Sova in 1976. On April 16, 1977 she took him as her husband and took his seven children as her own. They lived a time in Tarheel, but Reva returned to the mountains and Canton after Frank died. Reva loved to read, spend time with her pets, and, above all, visit with her family and friends. She was a good listener, a concerned mother/grandmother, and, when asked, a wise counselor. She loved well and was so well loved. Reva will be greatly missed by her brother, Charles Miller, and her children: Carol Knight, John (Kym) Sova, Juanita (Michael) Conley, Karen Allen, Sherry (John) Pruitt, David K. (Mary) Allen, Michael (Jessie) Sova, Mark Sova, Linda (Jeff) Brown, and Chip (Sarah) Allen. And there are the many little and not so little ones who knew her simply as "Grandma Honey " and now grieve this loss, her grandchildren; Cory (Dana) Sova, Trent Sova, Shilo (James) Karsa, Audrey Sova, Lance Knight, Trystin Sova, Kalin Wojtczak, Kyle Sova, Ashley Wojtczak, Irene Conley, Colleen (Luke) Bsharah, Blake Wojtczak, Kaitlin Allen, Maureen Conley, Chase Knight, Spencer Allen, Harley Brown, Zachery Wojtczak, David Allen, Trevor Brown, Lucas Brown, Bryce Brown, Emily Allen and Abby Allen; and great grandchildren, Brasen Karsa and Koen Karsa. Visitation will take place at Wells Funeral Home on Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. At 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2013 a memorial service will be held at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. Reva will be interned with David and her son, Jeff, during a graveside ceremony directly following the memorial service at Morning Star Cemetery.
