Candler-Reva King Stockton, age 87 died Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at Pisgah Manor Nursing Home.
She was a native of Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Riley and Ora Young King. She was the wife of the late Fred B. Stockton who died in 2000. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Monica Thompson, one sister, Ethel Morgan and one brother, Lane King. She was a homemaker and a very active member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, having served in many capacities.
She is survived by one daughter and her husband, Dianne and Henry Thompson of Candler, two sons and their wives, Dale Stockton, Sr. and Vicki of Candler and Carroll and Barbara Stockton of Canton, one sister, Dorothy Connor of Candler, one brother, Paul King of Candler, 4 grandchildren, Tina Trull and her husband Tim, Teresa Messer, Donnie Stockton, Dale Stockton, Jr. and 5 great-grandchildren, Wendy Messer, Jennifer Messer, Heather Messer, Andrew Trull and Laura Trull.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2003 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jack W. Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Henry and Dianne Thompson, 60 Luther Road, Candler, NC 28715.
