Reva Weatherman

"1932 – 2017" Candler – Reva Martha Surrett Weatherman, 84, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at her residence. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Riley and Lillie Mae Johnson Surrett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Surrett and an infant sister, Ella Mae Surrett. Reva served as director of her church nursery and she also raised many children within her own home for over 40 years. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, C.B. Weatherman; three daughters, Judy Weatherman Davis (Nathan) of Waynesville, Lisa Weatherman French (Christopher), and Anita Weatherman (Paul Moriarty) of Arden; one son, Bruce Weatherman (Vivian) of Asheville; three sisters, Frankie Ballard of Candler, Ruth Lance of Marion, and Jo Singleton of Belmont; one brother, John Surrett of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren, Chris and Brian Weatherman, Brooke Strickland Conaway, Mark Ray, Bob Huntly, Joseph and Sarah French; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Edgewood Baptist Church with the Reverend Charles Shelton and Reverend Lee Harmon officiating.
