Reverend Gosnell

Canton - Reverend Dr. Ricky Dale Gosnell, age 48, died Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Memorial Mission Hospital. He was a native of Spartanburg, SC and the son of Jessie James and Lillian Spake Gosnell of Spartanburg, SC. Rick was pastor of Canton First Baptist Church for nine years and also served Buffalo Lick Baptist Church in Shelbyville, KY and Livingston First Baptist Church in Livingston, AL. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 24 years, Robin Metts Gosnell; three daughters, Hannah Dale Gosnell, Rebekah Metts Gosnell and Sarah Shelby Gosnell; and a sister Kathy McKinney and her husband, Vince, of Spartanburg, SC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Canton First Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Perry Brindley, Reverend Dr. Alan Medders, and Reverend Dr. Wayne Ballard officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Canton First Baptist Church for Church Renovations Phase III, 74 Academy Street, Canton, NC 28716.
