Reverend Jenkins

June 3, 1937 — April 4, 2012

Waynesville, Reverend Gerald Vinson Jenkins, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Mission Hospital Memorial Campus. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Pauline Inman Jenkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Jenkins. Gerald lived for the Lord and his passion and focus in life was his relationship with Jesus Christ. He was president of the Jesus Never Fails Ministry for the past 20 years, and was a member of the Full Gospel Holiness Church. He was survived by his wife, Nellie A. Grant Jenkins; a daughter, Janene Nations and her husband, John, of Cherokee, NC; three sons, Gene Jenkins and his wife, Linda Gail, of Canton, Marty Jenkins and his wife, Shellie, of Nashville, TN and Eddie Jenkins and his wife, Tammy, of Hartselle, AL.; a sister, Edith Jenkins of South Carolina; two brothers, Charlie Jenkins and his wife, Pat, and Frank "Pete" Jenkins all of South Carolina; ten grandchildren, Brandi, Marti and Shellyn Jenkins, Teia McClure, Chelsey and Megan Nations, Dusty, Kelly, J.W. and Daphney; and one great-grandchild, Memphis McClure. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2012 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Frank Wyatt, Reverend Ron Gardner, Reverend Lloyd Allen and Marty Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Center Pigeon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
