Reverend Lance

"1936 – 2016" Asheville – Reverend Dr. R. H. "Bud" Lance, age 79, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late James and Lexie Crisp Lance. Bud was the former pastor of Faith Chapel Baptist Church in Fletcher, Academy Road Baptist Church in Walterboro, South Carolina, New Hope Baptist Church in Candler, Center Pigeon Baptist Church in Canton, and was a missionary with the International Baptist Outreach Missions. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Martha Murray Lance; one daughter, Elizabeth Easton and her husband, Mark, of Canton; two sons, Rondell Lance, Jr. of Asheville, and Donald Lance of Candler; one sister, Genevieve Shope of Candler; and four grandchildren, Lance Easton and his wife, Lanae, Heather Grove and her husband, Chris, Jacob Lance and Evan Easton.. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2016 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Brent Cochran, Reverend Jerome Hodge, and Reverend Dr. Wendell Runion officiating. Burial will follow at Center Pigeon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
