Reverend Medford

Canton-Reverend Dennis W. Medford, 61, of 327 Why Worry Blvd, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2006 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Hugh and Annie Mae Medford. He is preceded in death by one brother, Buddy Roy Medford, who died in 1982 and one sister, Blanche H. Medford who died in 1999. He was former member of The National Guard , a United States Army Veteran who fought in Vietnam and a member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Joann; two sons, Scotty D. Medford, and his wife Amanda, of Bethel, Anthony D. Medford, and his wife Cindy, of Canton; one sister, Lucille Parton, of Waynesville; five grandchildren, Nathan, Christopher, Andrew, Makayla, Will and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2006 at Meadow Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Stiles and Reverend Mark Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Red Bank Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. At other times the family will be at the home of Anthony and Cindy Medford 520 Hidden Valley Circle, Bethel.
