Waynesville-John Berry "J.B." Rhinehart, Jr., age 72, of 32 Ashridge Drive, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of Loretta Griffin Rhinehart of Waynesville and the late John Berry Rhinehart, Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Edna Rhinehart, Linda Bolin, and Wilena Ammons and one brother, Hilliard Rhinehart. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. J.B. was a shipping clerk at Dayco for 30 years and lived and preached the gospel for 40 years. He loved people, hunting, and fishing and was a member of Hyatt Creek Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Rhinehart; three daughters, Debra R. Mintz and her husband, James, and Jonnie Sue Kirkpatrick and her husband, Rick, both of Waynesville and Trenia Sims and her husband, Calvin, of Tuckasegee; a sister, Effie Yarborough, of Waynesville; eight grandchildren, Kristin Rogers and her husband, Jason, Justin and Lacey Mintz, Cynthia, Jessica, and Bryan Sims and his wife, Gail, and Blake and Cassie Kirkpatrick; and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2006 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Eugene Osborne and Reverend Larry Coates officiating. Interment will be held at Plott Cemetery at Saunook. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
