Reverend Robertson

Waynesville-Reverend William Pender Robertson, age 82, died Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at the Brian Center.

He was a native of Graham County and lived most of his life in Haywood County. He was the son of the late Grady Herman and Nola Margaret Cody Robertson. He was also preceded in death by a son, William Grady Robertson, who died in 1961 and by two brothers, Kermit and Max Robertson.

He was employed by Unagusta for 25 years as a furniture worker. He was a member of Rocky Face Baptist Church in Canton. He was the pastor for several churches in Western North Carolina and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pauline L. Robertson; one daughter, Karen Scott and her husband, Gary, of Canton; two sons, Charles Robertson and his wife, Sharon, and James C. Robertson and his wife, Angie, all of Clyde; one sister, Kathleen Cagle, of Andrews; one brother, Sherrill Robertson, of Waynesville; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2003 at the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes. The Reverend Donnie Henson, Mr. Charles Robertson, and Reverend James C. Robertson will officiate. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2003, at the funeral home.

The pallbearers will be Chester Sorrells, Matt DeLozier, Raymond and Lee Brooks, Carroll and Mike Scott.
