Richard Borden

"Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather"

Waynesville, Richard Stanley "Dick" Borden, 84, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Maggie Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A native of Fall River, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Stanley and Marion Lannagan Borden. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elisabeth Borden, who died in 2017, and a brother, Elton Borden. He was a retired purchasing agent for Fall River City with 35 years of service. Richard loved to golf and enjoyed traveling. He was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan.

Richard is survived by two daughters, Susan Borden Franco and husband, William, of Newport, Rhode Island and Karen Anne Borden of Fall River, Massachusetts; his son, Stephen Richard Borden and wife, Michelle, also of Fall River; four grandchildren, Summer Franco of Newport, Rhode Island, Raymond Missildine, and Aaron and Nicole Borden, all of Fall River, Massachusetts; and a great-granddaughter, Skyler Dias.

A private family service is planned.
