Richard Brank

Richard LaVon Brank, 46, of Enka, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Mission Hospitals. He was a son of Lorraine Bradley Lewis. He was preceded in death by his step-father Lawrence A. Lewis and partner, Jeff Porter, grandparents, Richard Elmo and Gladys Sparks Bradley and Leonard Brank.

Mr. Brank worked for the Asheville Citizen Times for 28 years. He loved cars, gardening and anything retro. He collected peacocks, cars and lighthouses.

Along with his mother survivors include his wife Kimberly Brank and daughter, Alisha Brank both of Candler, brothers, Bradley Christopher Lewis of Whittier, Todd Brank of Washington and Preston Brank of Washington, sisters, Phaedra Lewis Meyer of IL, Tracy Brank of SC, Robin Brank of SC, Jessica Brank of Washington, Sarah Brank of Washington, grandmother, Louise Brank of SC, aunt Virginia Sparks Turner of Asheville, several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Reba and special friend Patricia Finley.

Graveside services will be held 11AM Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Sam Hale officiating.

Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn, Candler is assisting the family.
