Richard Case

Candler, Richard Howard Case, 71, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at his home.

Howard was born on February 15, 1949, in Asheville to parents Oscar Rayburn and Louise Holcombe Case.  He was a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Wesleyan Church where he served as a trustee and deacon for many years.  Howard worked for 35 years at Champion International Paper as a winder operator.  He was a beloved husband, father, Papaw and friend.  When he wasn’t piddling in his shed or gardening, Howard was joy riding with the love of his life, Sandra.

Howard is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sandra Case, of Candler; a daughter, Beth Beasley Moody and her husband, E.J., of Candler; a son, Rocky Case, and his wife, Chastity, of Candler; sister, Doris Jones, of Candler; brother, Jim Case, of Hendersonville; and three grandchildren, Travis, Kaylee, and Lindsey.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Mt. Moriah Wesleyan.  The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.  Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
