Roba Caldwell

November 26, 1938 — May 4, 2005

Waynesville-Roba Dean DeWeese Caldwell, age 66, of 39 Pleasant Hill Circle, died Wednesday, May 04, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native and life-long resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Roba and Juanita Scruggs DeWeese. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Colleen DeWeese. She was a graduate of Canton High School and attended Plains United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Hugh Edward Caldwell; three daughters, Cathy Pressley and her husband, Roy, and Terri Blythe and her husband, Greg, both of Canton, and Donna Swift and her husband, Dan, of Waynesville; a son, Hugh Edward Caldwell, Jr. and his wife, Charlotte, of Waynesville; a sister, Ann Moffitt and her husband, Charles, of Canton; a brother, Richard DeWeese and his wife, Pat, of Canton; seven grandchildren, Hunter and Lauren Pressley, Stephanie Hamsho, Daniel and Morgan Swift, Allie Blythe, and Trey Caldwell; and one great grandson, Alex Owens. A private family service will be held with Reverend Dennis Ruff officiating. Burial will be at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Plains United Methodist Church, 84 Holland Road Canton, NC 28716. Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.
