Robbie Scroggs

Robbie Joe Smathers Scroggs, age 92, died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Memorial Mission Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Maude Cabe Smathers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Carlos Scroggs, who died in 1991; an infant son, Don Michael Scroggs; a brother; and two sisters. She was a lifelong member of Canton Presbyterian Church and loved her family and friends. She is survived by a daughter, Robin Hawkins and her husband, Blaine, of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Jack Smathers and his wife, Emily, and J. Z. Smathers and his wife, Jeanne, all of Canton; a granddaughter; Amy Starnes and her husband, Todd, of Columbus, OH; and a great-granddaughter, Elyn Starnes. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Canton Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Beverly Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Locust Field Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Wells Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of arrangements.
