Robert Blanton

Hazelwood, Robert Allen Blanton, age 70, passed away on Thursday September 10, 2015 at The Homestead. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Rufus and Agnes Ruff Blanton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Bryan Blanton; and five sisters, Susie Ammons, Margaret Hensley, Betty Sutton, Barbara Crawford, and Doris Duncan. Robert was an outdoorsman who loved camping, hunting and fishing. He was known for his love of Bear hunting. Robert was of the Baptist Faith, of which he often attended services where his son was preaching. Robert is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Ledbetter Blanton; a son, Allen Blanton (Debbie); two grandchildren, Cassie Gill, and Trisha Blanton Piero (Kevin); one sister, Doyle Caldwell (Joe), of Fairview, NC; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Center Pigeon Baptist Church with Reverend Allen Blanton and Reverend Scott Poole officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses.
