Robert Jennings Clontz, a beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024, at Haywood Regional Medical Center in Haywood County. He was born on January 5, 1944, in Haywood County.

Robert lived a fulfilling life and leaves behind a lasting legacy. He proudly served his country as a Retired Captain in the National Guard. His dedication and commitment to his military service were exemplary and appreciated by all who had the honor of knowing him.

Beyond his military service, Robert was a loving husband to his beloved wife of 30 years, Genni Outlaw. Their bond was unbreakable and their love for each other radiated through their actions every day.

Robert was also a devoted father to his son, John Clontz, and his wife Cheryl, residing in Marietta, Georgia.  Additionally, he is survived by two step-daughters, Kristi Outlaw of Clyde and Kelli Outlaw of Spartanburg, South Carolina.  Family meant everything to Robert, and he often expressed pride in being a grandfather. He leaves behind nine grandchildren whose lives were brightened by his presence. His wisdom and affection have left an indelible mark on each one of them. Furthermore, there is one great-grandchild who will grow up with stories of Robert's kindness and love.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The care of Mr. Clontz has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes of Canton.
