Robert Dehil

Waynesville, Robert Joseph "Bob" Dehil, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at The Homestead. A native of Cleveland, Ohio he had resided in Haywood County since 1974. He was the son of the late Joseph and Jennie Dobish Dehil and was also preceded in death by three sisters. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict where he received the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star, the United Nations Medal, and was also a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was employed for 20 years at ILGWU and was of the Catholic faith. Bob was a Mason and belonged to Lafayette Lodge 23 in Washington, Georgia. He was also a member of the Imperial Council of the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine was a noble of the Mystic Shrine in YAARAB Temple of Atlanta, Georgia. Bob had a great love for the Folkmoot Festival where for more than 20 years he served as a concierge to all the performers. Bob also enjoyed collecting coins from all over the world. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara Jean Dehil; two sisters, Marie Hrivnak of Avon, Ohio and Delores Seuffert of Fort Myers, Florida; two brothers, Don Dehil and his wife, Pat, of Hinkley, Ohio and George Dehil of Sandusky, Ohio; and a grandson, Zack Dehil. It was Bob's wish to have a private family service and entombment followed at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum.
