Robert Fowler

Waynesville-Robert William Earl "Bob" Fowler, age 79, of 360 Thomas Park, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Grover C. and Selma Moody Fowler. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Fowler, who died in 2001; a brother, G.C. Fowler; and two sisters, Rovista Allen and Crystal Smith. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp and received his Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from New Mexico State University. He was employed by Dayco Corporation for 45 years and retired in 1991. He was an avid golfer, bowler, and softball player in industrial leagues. Mr. Fowler was a member of Grace Church in the Mountains and will be remembered as a giving and caring person by all who knew him. He is survived by two sons, Kevin Fowler and his wife, Angela, and Kip Fowler, all of Waynesville and one granddaughter, Jasmine, as well as other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Grace Church in the Mountains with Reverend Dr. Howard W. White, Jr. officiating.
