Robert Fulbright

Robert Harold Fulbright, Lt. Com., Ret., age 87, of 1603 Hyde Park Drive, died Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at Memorial Mission Hospital. He was a native of Cape Girardeau, MO and the son of the late Nicholas and Jetta Gamble Fulbright. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Alan, Dick and Jim Fulbright. He retired from the United States Navy on December 7, 1970 with 31 years of service as a Lt. Commander where he served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam and he was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. In addition to his wife of 24 years, Carolyn Ensley Fulbright, he is survived by three daughters, Patsy Fulbright of Portland, OR, Sheliah Lynch and her husband, John, of Santa Cruz, CA, and Collen Sanders and her husband, Gary, of Kingston, WA; a step-daughter, Cindy Hall Deporter of Oxford, NC; a son Nicholas Fulbright and his wife, Gayle of Carlsbad, CA; a step son Todd Hall and his wife, Tammy of Candler; a sister, Cathy Kingery and her husband, Dutch of Buchanan, MI; two brothers Nicholas Fulbright and his wife, Gwen of North Port, FL and Jack Fulbright and his wife, Margaret, of Irvin, TX; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerry Ensley officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park in Candler. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
