Robert Green

Lake Junaluska, Robert "Bob" Lee Green, age 83, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at The Homestead.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late William and Fina Simmons Green, in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Jane Grant Green who died in 2012; three brothers, William Jr., Tillman and Roy Green. Bob retired with 44 years of service from Champion Paper where he was the maintenance coordinator. He was a devoted member of Dellwood Baptist Church. Bob was a former member of Champion of Canton Fastpitch Softball Team and Champion Basketball team. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved his grandchildren.

Bob is survived by a daughter, Judith Elaine Green, of Alabaster, Alabama; a son, Terry Lee Green, of Waynesville; brother, Horace Green, of Lake Junaluska; and four grandchildren, Cameron, Sarah and Jessica Green, and Karina Steffek.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2017 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Bobby Rogers officiating. Private inurnment will be held at Greenhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
