Robert Greenalch

February 10, 1940 — April 7, 2014

Robert Edward "Bob" Greenalch, passed away on April 7, 2014 at The Homestead. Bob was born in Troy, New York, the second son of the late Lucian W. and Elma Keenan Greenalch. He graduated with honors from Sienna College in Loudonville, New York, with post-graduate courses at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. At the time of death, Bob had been employed by Giles Chemical for the last seven years. He served on the Administration Council of Clyde Central United Methodist Church in many capacities since 2002, and was a certified Methodist lay speaker. Bob was also active in the Haywood Arts Regional Theatre in Waynesville. Bob is survived his wife of 43 years, Sandra Wooten Greenalch, of Clyde; one daughter, Marie Greenalch O'Mahony, of Phoenix, Arizona; two sons, Robert E. Greenalch, Jr. of Fullerton, California, and Jason Hawk Greenalch of Asheville; one brother, Richard K. Greenalch of Branford Connecticut; and two granddaughters, Emer Joan O'Mahony and Cara Niamh O'Mahony, both of Phoenix. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Clyde Central United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dan Gaddy officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clyde Central United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 8, Clyde, NC 28721, Haywood Arts Regional Theatre, P.O. Box 1024, Waynesville, NC 28786, or to Sarge's Animal Rescue Foundation, P.O. Box 854, Waynesville, NC 28786.
