Robert Haines

Robert Franklin "Bob" Haines, age 66, of 599 Mulberry Street died Saturday, August 09, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

He was a native of Bainbridge, Ohio and had resided in Haywood County since 1986.

He was the son of the late Bob and Viola Sweeny Haines. He was also preceded in death by a son, Randy Haines who died in 1960 and two grandsons.

He was employed by Asheville Buncombe Technical Community College and retired from the United States Air Force. He loved gospel music.

In addition to his wife of 20 years, Carol Roberts Haines of Clyde, he is survived by eight daughters, Corey Hall and Carla Haines both of Clyde, Miranda Holbrook of Canton; 2nd Lt. Anna Grace Sutphin of Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, Christine Smith of Anchorage, AK; Kathryn Haines of Michigan, Kelly Pyles of Springfield, OH and Kimmy Hogan of Cape Coral, FL; two sons, Mark Haines of Poway, CA and Robert Anthony Haines of Anchorage, AK; two sisters, Lorraine Dean of Circleville, OH and Joann Speaks; a brother, James East of Springfield, OH as well as 20 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at Long Branch Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Community Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Monday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton where the body will remain until thirty minutes prior to the service.
