Robert Laporte

Robert Damase Laporte, age 80, of 149 Beaver Run South, died Sunday, November 16, 2008, at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Dupuy Quebec, Canada, he was the son of the late Joseph Damase and Rosina Frappier Laporte. Robert retired from HOMAC Mfg. in Ormond Beach, FL with 21 years of service as a tool and die machinist. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pierrette Mercier Laporte; two sons, Daniel R. Laporte of Weaverville and Luc M. Laporte of Edgewater, FL; two daughters, Lyne Poirier Sharps of Crossville, TN and Lucie M. Little of Candler; two sisters, Yvette Ouellet of Montreal, Canada and Denise Morasse of Beaupre Quebec, Canada; a brother, Marcel Laporte of Montreal, Canada; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2008, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
