Robert Mcgaha

December 25, 1921 — April 15, 2010

Waynesville, Robert Clay McGaha, age 88, died on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the Brian Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Isaac Burl and Ethel Nelson McGaha and was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. He was a United States Army veteran of WWII. Robert retired from the Town of Waynesville and was a member of Barberville Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy Mull McGaha; two daughters, Ann Jenkins and her husband, Fred, and Helen Wyatt and her husband, Roy, all of Waynesville; one son, Leonard C. McGaha, of Cary, NC; four sisters, Hazel Mack of Waynesville, Ruth Rich of Clyde, Lucille Garland of Florida and Maxine Wyatt of Waynesville; four grandchildren, Kevin Jenkins, Patrick McGaha, Brandon Wyatt and Mindi Garrett; and five great grandchildren, Colton and Gracie Jenkins, Addison, Samantha Wyatt and Kingsley Wyatt. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2010 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Branch cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
