Robert Vinson Pace, age 64, of Phillipsville Loop died Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Asheville. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the son of the late Wendell and Marie Baker Pace. He was owner and operator of Southern Fun RV for 25 years and a member of West Canton Baptist Church. Vinson's passion was collecting and restoring antique cars and he was a charter member of the Mountaineer Antique Auto Club. He also loved spending time with his family at Lake Chatuge. In addition to his wife of 46 years, Cynthia C. Pace, he is survived by a daughter, Robyn P. Putnam and her husband, Robert, of Hendersonville, a son, Robert "Robbie" V. Pace, Jr. and his wife, Carol, of Canton; two sisters, Barbara Allen and her husband, Gedwin, and Pamela Fox and her husband, Randy, all of Canton; three brothers, Jerry Pace and his wife, Jo Ann, of Waynesville, Ronnie Pace and his wife, Brenda, of Canton, and Kenneth Pace and his wife, Teresa, of Cantonment, FL; four grandchildren, T. J. and Crystal Troughton and Ethan and Logan Pace. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2008, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Jeff King, Reverend Matthew Pruett, Reverend Ed Lowder, Reverend Bruce Cayton, and Reverend Joe Steadman officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
