Clyde, Robert H. Philon, age 84, won his long battle with Alzheimer's disease on Saturday, September 26, 2014 at The Oaks of Brevard. Born on March 3, 1930 in South Bend, Indiana, he was the son of Harry Cecil Philon and the late Virginia Ray Philon. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Ray and Virginia Sigety and two brothers, Jim Rodgers and Carl L. Philon USMC (retired). Robert was a US Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era earning the rank of Major. Coach Philon was retired from the Tangipahoa Parish School System where he spent twenty years teaching and coaching at Kentwood Junior High School in Kentwood, Louisiana. Robert is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Jim Davis Philon; two sons, Robert W. Philon and wife, Tammy, and James M. Philon and his wife, Leigh; grandchildren, Kersti, Cara, Logan, Benjamin and Jake Philon, Kelsey Philon Lamb, and Kali Daniels; great-grandchild, Ender Lamb. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend James Huey officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. prior to services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O.
