Robert Rector

Candler- Robert Claude Rector - age 78 died Sunday, January 29, 2006 at VA Medical Center. He was a son of the late John and Texie Hyatt Rector. He was retired from BASF with 37 ½ years of service and was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church for 30+ years. Mr. Rector was a United States Army Veteran of World War II having served his country from June 26, 1945 until December 10, 1946. He was loved very much by his family and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruby Clark Rector; one son, Reverend Gary Mark Brown and his wife Linda of Belmont; one sister, Johnnie Roberts of Weaverville; one granddaughter, Kindall B. Gunn and her husband Shane of Gastonia and one grandson, Kelly Mark Brown of Gastonia and two great - grandchildren, Mia and Conner Gunn. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2006 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Gary Brown and Reverend Jack W. Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Ridgeway Baptist Church, 525 Old 19/23 Hwy, Candler, NC 28715.
