Robert Stamey

Waynesville-Robert Richard Stamey, age 76, of Chestnut Park Drive, died Saturday, June 12, 2004 at Chestnut Park Rest Home #2. He was a native of Haywood County and was the son of the late Arthur and Mabel Trammell Stamey. He was also preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. He was a self-employed painter and enjoyed hunting. He is survived by five sisters, Mary Ann Rogers and her husband, Jack, Betty Stamey, Annie Stamey, and Bonnie Kenney, all of Waynesville, and Billie Sue Wise of Ocala, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at Green Hill Cemetery with Captain Trint Sills officiating. The nephews will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721. Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.
