Robert Scott

Mt. Sterling, Robert Dale "Bob" Scott, age 59, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at his residence. A native of Watauga County, he was the son of Delmar J. Scott of Boone, NC and the late Victoria Jestes Scott. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Jeanne Walters, and one brother, Wayne Davis. He was a very proud US Army veteran of the Vietnam Era. Employed by Appalachian State University for 25 years, he retired as a telecommunications technician. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Darlene Caldwell Scott; two daughters, Kelly Scott of Hudson, NC and Linda Scott of Asheville, NC; one sister, Maxine Wood of Monterey, TN; and one brother, Warren Davis of Ingleside, TX. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2009 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Carleene Finger officiating. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 5202 and American Legion Post 47. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior.
