Robert Sheehan

February 12, 1930 — January 9, 2006

Waynesville-Robert Charles "Bud" Sheehan, age 75, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2006 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Hobert L. and Nonnie Harris Sheehan. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Hoyle. He was employed by Dayco Corporation for 36 years as a clerk in the Plastic Hose Department until his retirement. He was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Allens Creek Baptist Church where he served as an usher for many years. He was an avid Tuscola football fan. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy Ensley Sheehan: two daughters, Kathy Farrell and her husband, Woody, of Knoxville, TN and Jan Hall and her husband, David, of Waynesville; one sister, Susie West of Gibraltar, MI; three grandchildren, Ryan and Chris Hall and Greg Farrell. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Eddie Deitz and Reverend Jerry Ensley officiating. Interment will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10 at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby, Benny, Larry, and Ed Cogdill, Dennis Early, and Will Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Hasket, Jim Riggs, Wayne Davis, Ted Stevens, Charlie McCall, and Charles Mann. Memorials may be made to Allens Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 549 Allens Creek Road, Waynesville, NC 28786.
