Robert Steelman

Robert Wayne Steelman of Rogers Street passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2008. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late William and Dora Steelman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Rogers Steelman and his five brothers and one sister. Bob served in the 303rd Engineer C. Battalion during World War II. He retired from American Enka in 1982. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2008, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Reverend Randall Tingle and Reverend James Hart officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. A private burial will be at Haynes Family Cemetery in Clyde at a later date.
