Robert Ted Davis, Jr., lovingly known as Ted, was a dedicated and hardworking individual who left a lasting on the lives of those around him. Born on May 9, 1957, in Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Robert Ted and Ruth Gregory Davis.
On Friday, December 22, 2023, Ted passed away at Mission Hospital in Buncombe County. The loss of such a remarkable individual has left a void that will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ted dedicated a significant portion of his life to his career as a Field Technician at Linder Industrial Machinery. His expertise and passion for his work were evident in the exceptional service he provided to his clients. Ted's commitment and attention to detail made him an invaluable asset to his colleagues and the company he worked for.
Outside of his professional life, Ted cherished his role as a husband and father. He was married to Lynn McClure Davis for 23 years, and their love was characterized by unwavering support and devotion. Together, they created a beautiful family filled with love and joy.
Ted leaves behind two daughters: Jill Montanez (Michael) of Candler, and Gayla Jones (Bill) of Waynesville; along with three sons: Jason Davis (Brittany) of Walhalla, SC, Justin Davis (Audrey) of Asheville, and Jason Holland (Brandi) of Waynesville. His children were his pride and joy, and he embraced every opportunity to guide them through life's ups and downs.
In addition to his immediate family, Ted is survived by two sisters: Kathy Fuller and Ann Letterman, both residing in Candler; two brothers: Charles Davis of Asheville and Ronald Davis of Chuckey, TN.
Ted also leaves behind nine grandchildren who were the light of his life: Wyatt, Caleb, Makenna, Royal, Isabel, Abby, Coleman, Kennedy, and Thoryn. Each grandchild held a special place in Ted's heart and brought immense joy to his days.
As we bid farewell to Ted Davis, we take solace in the knowledge that he lived a life filled with love, laughter, and purpose. His legacy will live on through the memories shared by his family and friends. May he find eternal peace in the embrace of those who have gone before him.
