Robert Willetts, Sr.

Clyde-Robert A. Willetts, age 69, died on Monday, March 19, 2007 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Wilmington, he had resided in Haywood County for 30 years. He was the son of the late Fred and Virgie Russ Willetts. Bob was a driver for Shelton Transport for 29 years and was known by the handle, "Gas Hauler." He was a member of Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy Willetts; one son, Robert Willetts, Jr. of Port Orange, FL; two grandchildren, Robert Justin Willetts and Rhiannon Willetts; and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2006 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Daryl Hannah officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Jones, Joe Baker, Earl Stowers, Phillip Messer, Fred Yandle, and Paul Cagle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church, 1410 Poison Cove Road, Clyde, NC 28721.
