Robert Wines, Jr.

Canton - Robert E. Wines, Jr., age 54, of 100 Crossroad Hill Road died Sunday, March 9, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the son of Robert E. Wines, Sr. and Loretta Reece Wines of Canton.

He was in partnership with his father as owner and operator of Wines Plumbing Company. He was a member of North Canton Baptist Church and attended Ridgeway Baptist Church. He was a member of Pisgah Camping Club and served as treasurer of Crossroad Hill Water Association. He was an avid golfer and church league softball player. He made everyone's day brighter with his special brand of humor.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 25 years, Susan Warren Wines of Canton; two sons, Nathan Wines and his wife, Heather of Canton and Justin Wines of the home; two sisters, Carolyn Wines Carson of Chicago, Ill and Kathy West of Asheville; two brothers, Rodney Wines of Paris, France and David Lutz of Brevard; a grandson, Justin Nathaniel Reid and his mother-in-law, Lillian Warren of Candler as well as a nephew and two nieces.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at Ridgeway Baptist Church with the Reverends Jack W. Collins and Bruce Cayton officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. Monday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
