Robert Wines, Sr.

1924-2015 Canton – Robert Eugene Wines, Sr., age 91, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Hubert and Tina Gaddy Wines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Dawn Reece Wines, who passed away in 2011; a son, Robert Wines, Jr., who passed away in 2003. Robert was a United States World War II Army veteran having served during The European Theater and was awarded The Bronze Star. He was owner and operator of Wines Plumbing Company for 27 years and was a member of North Canton Baptist Church. Robert is survived by two daughters, Kathy West and Carolyn Carson of Canton; two sons, Rodney Wines of Paris, France and David Lutz of Brevard, NC; five grandchildren, among them are two grandsons, Justin Wines, and Nathan Wines and his wife, Heather; and one great-grandson, Justin Reid Wines. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2015 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Jack W. Collins officiating. Burial followed at Old Thickety Cemetery. The family received friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Old Thickety Cemetery Maintenance Fund, c/o Linda Lowe, P.O.
