Robert Yarborough

Waynesville-Robert "Bob" Yarborough, age 94, of 116 Yarborough Street, died on Monday, June 25, 2007 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late James and Nancy Beck Yarborough. In addition to his parents, he is preceded by six brothers and three sisters. He retired as a supervisor after 30 from the Town of Waynesville where he worked in the Electrical Department. He also was a volunteer fireman of the Waynesville Fire Department for 30 years, retiring as Assistant Chief. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Laura Yarborough; one daughter, Nancy Yarborough, of Waynesville; two sons, John Yarborough and his wife, Effie, of Waynesville and Willard Yarborough and his wife, Elaine, of Kings Mountain, NC; a daughter-in-law, Patsy Nelon Yarborough; nine grandchildren, Beverly, Dwayne, Mark, James Yarborough, Willard Yarborough, Jr., Anita Moore, Daryl and Scott Inman, and Wesley Herron; ten great grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 29, 2007 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Daryl Hannah and Nancy Yarborough. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home. Active firemen will serve as pallbearers and volunteer firemen will serve as honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the Waynesville First Responders or the Town of Waynesville Fire Department, both at 9 S. Main Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
