Robin Corn

January 13, 1957 — August 12, 2013

Robin Scott Corn, age 56, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2013. A native of Buncombe County, he had resided in Haywood County since 1984 and was the son of Eva Burrell Corn of Candler and the late Bobby J. Corn, who died in 2007. He was a 1975 graduate of Pisgah High School, owner and operator of Lone Star Motor Company, and a member of Canton First Baptist Church. Robin was loved by all who knew him. He deeply cared for and loved his family and friends. He started every morning with his daily devotion and time in prayer. Throughout his life, he enjoyed many special things, including horses, movies with his family, reading, and was an avid outdoorsman and sports fan of UNC Chapel Hill and University of Tennessee athletics. Robin will be remembered for his devotion and service to his family, church, and friends and will be deeply missed by them all. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 29 years, Carol Corn; two daughters, Ashley Corn of Greensboro and Meredith Scott Corn, a senior at UNC Chapel Hill; his mother-in-law, Janice Waynick of Greensboro; a sister, Debbie C. Jackson and her husband, Charles, of Asheville; nephew, Nathan Jackson and his wife, Amy, of Asheville; two great-nephews; a niece, Brittany J. Paul and her husband, Chris, of Asheville; and other loving, extended family. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2013 at Canton First Baptist Church with the Reverend Jay Meadows and Reverend David Burrell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to International Mission Board, P.O.
