Rodger Owen

Canton, Rodger Dale Owen, 76, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Memorial Mission Campus.

Rodger was a native of Haywood County, born to the late Hershel and Minnie Roger Owen. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Faye Owen; five brothers and two sisters.

He was employed as a Superintendent with IMOCO Construction and was owner and operator of Owens Lawn Service for several years.  He enjoyed spending time on his boat house at Lake Fontana.  Rodger was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Rodger is survived by one son, Ricky Owen; two sisters, Joan Morgan and Phyllis Quarles; two grandchildren, Keiffer and Cody Owen; and two great-grandchildren, Caanan and Steven Owen.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 30, 2021 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating.  Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Sunburst Cemetery.
