Roger Rivers

Clyde, Roger Evan Rivers, age 53, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Lee County, Virginia he was the son of the late Anna Witt and was also preceded in death by a nephew, Brian Rivers. Roger's heart belonged to his family. When he was not busy working on vehicles, he enjoyed fishing with his son, Jim. Roger cherished the time with his one true love, Cynthia. His favorite moments were simply spent watching their favorite television shows or listening to music. Roger is survived by his wife of 17 years, Cynthia Rivers, of Clyde; his father, Boone Crawford Rivers, of Fairfax, Virginia; one son, James "Jim" Queen, of Clyde; one brother, Wes Rivers, of Candler; and a close special friend, Bryson Bryant. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
