Roger Shuler

Waynesville, Roger Verlin Shuler, age 64, died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at his residence. He was a native of Jackson County and had lived in Haywood County for the past 16 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Elsie Conner Shuler, a sister, Marie Maynor and a brother, Enloe Shuler. Roger was a volunteer at the Waynesville Pharmacy since 1993. He was a member of Balsam Baptist Church. He is survived by five brothers, Earl (Carrie), Winston (Carolyn), Carroll (Norma Faye) and Doyle (Cathey) Shuler of Balsam and Kenneth (Sarah) Shuler of Mt. Holly, NC; two sisters, Frankie Carter of Waynesville and Autherine (Roosevelt) Gibson of Balsam along with many nieces and nephews Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Balsam Baptist Church with Reverend Johnny Swanger officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy, Brent, Steve and Mikey Shuler, Rick Greenarch and Bill Kent. Wells Funeral Homes of Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.
