Roma Price

Roma Hipps Price, age 90, died Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Franklin and Aliff Loraine Plemmons Hipps. She was also preceded in death by a son, John Douglas Price who died in 1972 and her sister, Charlotte Branson. She retired from Champion International with 38 ½ years of service. She was a member of Plains United Methodist Church, the Haywood County Home Extension, and Snug Harbor (Champion Old Timers). Roma loved to travel and has been all over the world. She is survived by two sons, Tom Price and his wife, Judy, of Mills River and Don Price and his wife, Nancy, of Clyde; a brother, Mark Hipps; six grandchildren, Sharron, Stephen, and Mark Price, Paige Melton, Hope Wilcox, and Torrie Henson; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2009, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Kemuel Pruitt officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
