Ronald Everts

March 4, 1931 — May 17, 2003

Maggie Valley-Ronald E. Everts, age 72, died Saturday, May 17, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and spent his childhood in Gratiot County. He resided in Keystone Heights, Florida and had lived in Haywood county for 17 years.

He was the son of the late Helen Everts and was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. He was past congregational president and treasurer of the church. He was also past president of the Lions Club in Keystone Heights, Florida. He was a US Marine.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol Ruffer Everts; three sons, Jerald Everts and his wife Debra of Bedford, MI, Jeffrey Everts and his wife Rachelle of Pace, Florida and Brian Everts and his wife Marsha of Tecumseh, MI; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church. The Reverend John Greene and Reverend Clarence Budkee will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 90 Stiles Road, Canton, NC 28716 or to Our Saviour Lutheran Church Building Fund, 785 Paragon Parkway, Clyde, NC 28721.
