Maggie Valley, Ronald Edward Freeman, age 81, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Maggie Valley Nursing Home and Rehabilitation.

A native of Reidsville, North Carolina he was the son of the late John Moten and Louise Love Freeman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Freeman. Ronald's career centered around his design work for Karastan Rugs. Upon retirement, he enjoyed tinkering with vehicles, finding a bargain on EBay, serving his best friend, Alaska Pressley or simply resting in the solitude of the mountains.

Ronald is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Farnum (Steve), of Thousand Oaks, California and Sheena Mullinax (Damon), of Wilmington, North Carolina; son, Ryan Freeman (Cindy), of Arden, North Carolina; sister, Martha Freeman, of Macon, Georgia; sister-in-law, Sylvia Freeman, of Reidsville, North Carolina; two brothers, Cecil Freeman (Debbie), of Dalton, Georgia and Jack Freeman, of Reidsville, North Carolina; best friend, Alaska Pressley; three grandchildren, Henry, Thomas and Sarah.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
