"Loving Husband and Father"

Waynesville, Ronald Lee "Ronnie" Hyatt, age 68, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Memorial Mission Hospital.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Charles and Louise Raines Hyatt and was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Hyatt and two sisters, Joyce Parks and Barbara Sue Sellers. Ronnie was a decorated Marine Corp veteran of the Vietnam Era having received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. Ronnie was a proud marine who loved his country and was a self-employed master builder and was a member of Balsam Baptist Church. He loved camping and cruising with his wife and family.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 50 years, Clara Wood Hyatt; a daughter, Michelle Chandler and husband, Chris, of Waynesville; a son, Tim Hyatt and husband, Ricky Pendergrass, of Waynesville; three sisters, Betty Carpenter and husband, Harry, of Fletcher, Linda Hyatt of Maggie Valley and Brenda Sponaugle and husband, Richard, of Canton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2017 in the in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Chris Chandler officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to services.
